Tutoring Class

During the pandemic, schools were frequently closed in response to the epidemic, necessitating the transition to online learning. Consequently, many students experienced a decline in their academic progress. The students served by the Center primarily come from low-income families, lacking the financial resources to afford tutoring services. Additionally, parents often face challenges in tutoring their children due to their own limited education.

In response to these challenges, the Center will commence academic tutoring services in January 2021. The tutors are primarily older siblings of the students who have graduated from the Center. They possess university degrees or are currently pursuing higher education, and have the necessary skills to effectively interact with children and tailor their teaching approach to their learning levels.

From April 2023 to March 2024, the Center provided one hour of individual weekly tutorial to a total of 30 students, in total 754 sessions. Through consistent tutoring, the academic performance of the students has shown a remarkable improvement. Several of them have achieved exceptional results in examinations and have successfully been admitted to Band 1 secondary schools. These positive outcomes have instilled a renewed sense of confidence in the students and have been acknowledged by their school teachers.
